Clement, John
Prof. John Clement has been engaged in research on learning in science and mathematics at the University of Massachusetts for the past 35 years. His current research focuses on methods for helping students form and use visualizable models in science. This research is enhanced by studies of mental model construction by expert scientists solving explanation problems. He has published several books in these areas as well as many articles on reasoning and learning in science. His team's work has been funded virtually continuously by the National Science foundation for the last 30 years. He has served on boards for the National Science Foundation, and the National Science Board.
