Abi received her PhD in School Psychology in 2013. She came to the program with extensive experience working with children with autism and other special needs populations. Her previous research focused on resilience among at-risk students. This was her first foray into research in science education, and she worked on SRRI's Visual Modeling Strategies in Science Teaching project exploring the use of simulations in the science curriculum.
